avoiding motion sickness

Question:
will shortly be doing some pretty serious travel with my 8.5 month old daughter. We are talking numerous plane rides (seven, to be exact!) within the space of ten days. When my fifteen year old was three or four, there was liquid dramamine which could be given
(sparingly) to kids. Now, when I ask the pharmacist about something to avoid motion sickness in babies, I get blank looks. No liquid dramamine... Some has suggested Benadryl to make her sleep. Anyone else have suggestions?

Answer:
Ask your pediatrician! Many adults use a patch to avoid motion sickness; maybe there is a similar patch available for infants. Sounds like you're expecting the worst. I don't think I'd worry too much. We did a lot of air traveling with our daughters, starting when they were just a few weeks old. Actually, we had no problem with motion sickness. Just be sure you have a bottle or pacifier for your daughter to suck on, particularly during take offs and landings. Sucking will help prevent that pressure buildup in her ears, which otherwise may get unconfortable for her.

Believe me, your real worries don't start until she's a toddler and wants to run up and down the aisle, constantly! Have a great trip.
