Motion Sickness Bracelet

Question:
I have read about a bracelet for motion sickness, does it work? Anyone know where to get them?

Answer:
They are called Relief Band and are approved by the FDA for motion sickness, nausea from chemo, Drugstore.com has the cheapest prices I have seen (about $60 instead of $125 in most catalogs) or sometimes they are being auctioned at E-Bay. Might be the way to try them out instead of paying full price. (These are the prices I have seen for the band you can wear over and over again, they also have disposible that are cheaper but I've heard don't last very long). . There are two kinds of bands. I know because I have them both and won't sail without them. The stretchy elastic ones with the plastic button you place over an acupuncture point on the inside of your wrist and usually cost about $8.00 to $10.00. The bracelets that look like a wristwatch have a replaceable battery at around $100; or a model with a non-replaceable battery at about $60.00. I use the elastic ones if it gets rough, and the battery operated bracelet if it is really rough. Unfortunately, I have an eye problem that keeps me from using any of the usual sea sickness preparations. So the bracelets are a life saver. Read the warning on the Dramamine or Bonine package and check with your doctor if any of the conditions mentioned hit home.
