Question:
relatively new on the market, does anyone have any info on possible
side effects of these meds?
Answer:
Side effects for Valtrex can include: abdominal pain, appetite loss (I
wish!!), constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting,
weakness.
Famvir: Constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, fatigue, fever, headache,
mausea, vomiting.
I've been on Valtrex for a year and have not experienced any side
effect other than dry mouth.
Oh and one more thing, my fiance and I are
Talk to your ob/gyn about your options. Being on anti-viral therapy
decreases the risk of transmission. Acyclovir has an excellent safety
record. Women who are pregnant have taken acyclovir to treat outbreaks
or suppress them right up until delivery. (Loved the turkey baster
idea!!) Yeppers, an outbreak will do that to a person. Lethargy is a common
prodromal symptom of genital herpes. My sleepiness goes away when the
prodrome symptom subside. I'm on suppressive meds so I usually just
get an achy leg and a tingly butt cheek and feeling pooped.
I dunno... this turkey baster idea is kinda lame. I mean, what fun will
it be for hubby to make it with a turkey baster, eh? Kinda small, isn't it?
He certainly wouldn't get herpes that way, though.
Now, if you opt for regular sex to accomplish conception (rather than this
kinky thing with a kitchen accessory) you may want to investigate being on
suppression therapy in order to keep hubby from catching herpes. That way you
can reduce the known outbreaks and of course, reduce that pesky asymptomatic
shedding by up to 95%. Talk to your doc about all this tho.
