Question:
Anyone had problems with anxiety attacks that made them not only feel
unable to cope with everything, but also gave feelings of dizziness and
nausea? Is this common?
Answer:
Hi Dene - these are very common symptoms of anxiety. Have you been to
see a Doctor yet? I see that, like me, you are in the UK, therefore
your chances of stumbling across a GP who knows anything about anxiety
are pretty slim. The best advice I can give you is to find out as much
as you can about anxiety disorders - this newsgroup is a good place to
start - then you can teach your Doctor! I get anxiety/panic attacks that give me nausea. I did for years, then it sort of went away for a few years. Now the nausea is back when I get the attacks.
Not fun at all! Dizziness and nausea are common here. Stick around, you'll
like this group. Everyone is very supportive here. mine was my first symptom of anxiety and it felt like i was walking on the deck of a ship in a rough sea. It's a frightening experience when it first hits you. It was'nt until i found ASAP that i realised i was'nt the only person in the world with this symptom. My doc was'nt exactly hot on explaining things to me. I never had the nausea but i think that's also a fairly common anxiety symptom. Check it all out with your doc though.
