Question:
I am suffering from this since I was 17 and I am now 32 though I
didnot have this regularly.
It first started when I was 17 and those days, I used to have almost
once every week. Wake up in the morning an dfeel as if the entire
world is spinning around you. I used to feel unbalaced, walk as if I
am walking all drunk. Sometimes I used to even throw up after that mostly sleep and next day I used to be fine. This went on for a year. at that time, I
got diagonised to have nerve deafness and may docs related this to inner
ear imbalance related issue. This reduced quite a lot with time an dafter
a couple of years, I reached a state when I had this no more.
But again last year around teh month of March, I faced this problem.
It was not so severe like it used to happen when I fist got that but I
used to continuously feel imbalanced and dizzy. I had a thouroug
checkup..
went to many docs..nobody could understand what really happened but it
went off on it own. I was prescribed 'meclizine' but that didnot help at all.
This year again since the last couple of days, I have started feeling
a bit dizzy an dfinally yesterday I had this severe feeling that I
will fall. I also feel some headaches during this time..not a lot but as ifI am carrying a huge weight on my head. I am again trying to see my doctor soon but anybody has any suggestions? Any medicines for this? Anybdoy faced this too? Any advice/suggestions/will help. My blood pressure, I just checked is
117/66 ..its usually around 70-74 but I think 66 is fine too.
I am always hydrated so that shouldnot be a problem. I am on on special medication as such.
Answer:
A friend of mine had these symptoms and was diagnosed as a form of tinitus.
I cannot ask her for further info as she has left the country. Search for "vestibular rehabilitation" related
websites and read everything you can find.
My balance has been off for over twenty years. In
the early years the room would spin whenever I
moved my head. I had a bunch of test and learned
that my left and right vestibular systems were
sending conflicting information to my brain. At
this time antivert helped quite a bit as did
anything that stimulated my vestibular system.
Now I simply don't feel movement and have trouble
controlling my center of gravity. I usually can
control the direction of my fall, but sometimes I
keel before I recognize the problem. Luckily,
I've never hurt myself other than for minor
bruising.
