| Motion Sickness Dizziness |
Question:
The indication for meclizine is nausea/vomiting and dizziness due to motion
sickness. Is motion sickness an inner ear thing? I have no idea what is
supposed to cause it.
Meclizine is the most closely related to hydroxyzine (Atarax, Vistaril) of all
the antihistamines that we hear much about. Benadryl and Dramamine/Gravol are
supposedly more effective for motion sickness.
I'm guessing meclizine is also an anticholinergic, but I don't know whether
that contributes to its usefulness any.

I haven't got a clue, either. But it's been my experience the
medical world is pretty clueless in certain areas, too. That why I threw
this bone on the floor to be chewed.
